In a spectacular hilly position overlooking the city but also immersed in the city, the eighteenth-century villa Angelica, which became a religious congregation in the nineteenth century, was transformed into a prestigious residence with park. The difficult position of the pre-existing buildings leads TRA to identify the transfer of part of the volume on an unused part of the park, overlooking the public space, in continuity with the existing curtains. This allows to fully develop the intervention program without weighing down the existing one with improper superfetations.
The three buildings – one restored, one transformed, one from scratch – intersect in a private ‘square’ which becomes the access to the residential complex.
